Feel free to talk about MegaMan Battle Network 3 here. I beat it, so I don't care about spoilers, but be careful of some who didn't.

He actually isn't that hard. Bass GX is harder. Just make sure you equip fastguage, Bass Plus(defeat,Bass GX),Gutsman Version 3(Bug,Frag Machine)and Roll Version 3(Talk to Mayl before entering the final stage). Also make sure you have strong chips like mine. Also make sure you have good Program Advances like master style or life sword.

Serenade was the coolest navi in any MMBN with the possible exclusion of Bass. The game itself was probably the best by way of flexibility for folders, but lacked a bit in the extra features. You throw in dark chips from 4/5, replace the styles with crosses or soul unisons(I'm on the fence for which one I prefer), and it's perfection. It was the first game I played in the series, and I've been on since then. Thinking about it, that's the number 1 thing that I think will make or break your game: the flexibility and fluidity afforded to folder building. My brother and I are both masters of the MMBN series and would love to help you in the balancing of chip codes and chips themselves if you're interested. Drop me an email if you're interested.

It was dang good. However, some chips were way too powerful. Serenade, Forte, Folder Return, and the Plantman chips, to name a few.

I agree with you all. Here is a secret to earily defeat all bosses. Use two area grabs and Serenade to take away as much as 6000! That is an automatic win!
And if you want a good story this is the perfect game for you, but if you want good features, then play mmbn4-6.

Defeat the two and you get their chips. Get a secret area walkthrough from gamefaqs.com for specific instructions.

Serenade's chip is only in the White version. It's your prize for beatin' the Serenade Time Trials. Both games have a Forte chip, but White's is much better. It's like the Forte V3 from EXE 2 on steroids from what I hear. Then you can pump it up...ugh.

I liked the fact that some of those chips were that powerful. In netbattling, which is obviously what I care most about, they weren't so clear-cut overpowered. Well, except for folderback. But other than that... the thing is, invis and mole existed. Area locking was just plain unlikely in a netbattle as well, and most of the scariest combos required it. I built every single RFF folder for this game(and getting those Prism Js was HELL), and played them all with great success, but there was 1 folder I almost never could beat. It was played by a guy who was inspired by serenade and wanted to make a revenge folder, which he titled passive aggression. The only things he had to directly damage me were his buster, geddon 3, and muramasa. He played blue version. I played both. Anyways, there was always something to stop me from killing him. Always an anti-damage, always an anti-navi, always his damn undershirt. I got hit with grab revenge a large number of times. It proved to me that it was a better balanced game than I had originally thought.

I really don't care that the chips are overpowered either. Thhat is an advantage, so what is there to complain about? The secret area is nearly impossible anyways.
