There's a PS3 vs Wii thread, so I figured I should make a PSP vs DS thread. Now before you vote or anything, you must follow this one rule. You MUST post when you vote. And do not think that I will not catch yoiu, because I can view the poll voters at any time.
Anyways, I pick PSP for obvious reasons. Now before you call me a Nintendo hater or throw Star Force and ZX in my face, take the time to look at my reasons.
1. Features: With DS all you can do is play DS and Game Boy Advance games. Whoop de doo. With PSP you can surf the web with the very nicely designed internet, use the PSP as a camera by simply attaching the new PSP camera to the USB port(you must have updated to version 3.00 or above), listen to music, watch/download videos and movies, download Playstation 1 games(not yet available) just like Wii, or even use it as a GPS(not yet available).
2. Graphics: I'll give DS some props for Final Fantasy 3, but have you guys seen Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII!!?? It looks beyond PS2 graphics! And FF3 is the only game for DS with REALLY good graphics. PSP has Vice City Stories which looks as good as PS2, the MegaMan Powered Up and Maverick Hunter X, Kill Zone, Metal Gear Acid, and a lot more.
3. Games: Yes PSP was slacking for a while with games, but besides ZX, Star Force, and FF3 name some REALLY good DS games. If you say Brain Age, Brain Academy, Nintendogs, or ANY Pokemon game for DS I will strangle you to death and hide your body in MF2's backyard. PSP in the other hand has the MegaMan games, Sonic Rivals, the Metal Gear games, Crash Bandicoot racing, the Grand Theft Auto games, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, and some other RPG game that I can't remember(it had the word Blade in the name).
4. Fun Factor: I do not care what anyone says LocoRoco was the funnest game I ever played ;D. Seriously it was fun, but MegaMan Powered Up even more fun. I prefer that and Maverick Hunter X over MegaMan ZX anytime due to better graphics, smoother gameplay sound, and more quality. The only game that'll give PSP a hard time with Fun Factor is MegaMan Star Force.
5. Gameplay: PSP runs much smoother, as said above and it can do a lot more than DS can involving gameplay due to it's higher ability.
6. Price: PSP will soon be $150($100 if they are still releasing PSP 2). Plus you do not need to get the bundle for $250 so $50 more is worth it. Overall unlike PS3, price cannot be used against PSP.
Those are my reasons.

I'm gonna go with the DS. Yeah the PSP is stronger, nad has more capability, but the DS will in time get those features. They already have an attachment that lets you play music via flash cards. Yeah, so it's not built in, but it's not THAT big. I also like the size of the DS over the PSP. When I play a PSP, it just seems to big. Even a regualr DS is a little big, but thats what a DSLite is for right? I'm still a fan of GBA, so I still get games. I like my SP, but The DS has a crisp LCD screen that allows the games to be viewed in a whole new way. Yeah so maybe Gunstar Super Heros isn't this awsome 3-D fps, but it still kicks some serious butt!! The new Final Fantasy Game, (XII I think...) is going to have the greatest grpahics for the DS so far, and when I first saw the screenshots, I thought it was a PS2 game! As for the gameplay of the DS games.... PSP take that. DS games are just WAY to short, or wicked bad. The best DS game I own is maybe Goldeneye: Rouge Agent, or Animal Crossing Wild World, and those are still just ok. The single, and most important reason that I stay with the DS on this, is because of it's way of changing gameplay. Nintendo made the NES, GBC, and now a touch screen-microphone utilizing system. Nintendo also hosts the best characters any system could ever dream of having. Which Sony character can compare with Link, Pikachu, Yoshi, Bowser, and the great Mario? Has any Sony character ever got there own movie? I did'nt think so. Mario and Luigi did!! THey, (and Link) even had their own T.V series!!! It's crazy!! So the DS isn't as strong as the PSP, Nintendo is stronger than Sony will ever be. You can't just compare systems, but the value of games is also a factor.

Well I'm definately buying Sonic Rivals for PSP because it takes the classic sideview to a MUCH higher level(just like Maverick Hunter X and Powered Up). EDIT: Here are some screenshots of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII media.psp.ign.com/media/711/711340/imgs_1.html

Name some great DS games? All righty then: Phoenix Wright. Advance Wars DS(though still not as great as the other two). The soon-to-come Phoenix Wright 2. StarFox Command was really good. I'm told Trauma Center is a superior game. I can't bring myself to get it and play it. Metroid Prime: Hunters. My word, the hours I've spent on that game... And, of course, Nintendo-*is strangled.*
Seriously, why are graphics such a big deal?

I never said that they were. Did you even read the entire post? It seems that you read the rule and one section of my reasons. Graphics are not even close to the entire game, because I can name 2D games that kill 3D games.
Well here is my new list for good PSP games
Sonic Rivals MegaMan Powered Up MegaMan: Maverick Hunter X Crash Bandicoot Racing Metal Gear Acid Another Metal Gear game which name I cannot rememeber LocoRoco Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII NBA 07 Star Wars Battlefront 2 Dynasty Warriors Dynasty Warriors 5 XL Tekken: Dark Ressurection MegaMan Powered Up 2-8(most likely to come out) MegaMan: Maverick Hunter X 2-6(most likely to come out) Daxter
By the way I take back what I said about Nintendogs. It's a good game actually(well not for me since its not to my interest). So I won't strangle you(this time).

I want to get Sonic Rivals really bad... Same with the GTA games.
MHX and MMPU pwn, I have 'em. Also, Daxter is a good game. Too short, but pretty good.

Why did you say that you would hide their body in MY backyard? I don't even have one.*points to it and everyone sees that it is a big hill covered in trees and dirt*.. At least put it in my driveway... It would make a good natural ornament. Hehehe, I can imagine, blood splattered across the driveway(yay). OR you could give ME the person so I can beat the crap out of them for you. I always feel a need to kill something. Like all the hamsters that I decapitated, impaled, ran over, burned, exploded, etc...
I can't really say what I like better. I don't have either system, and I don't know when I will.(PS:Beat me all you want, I'm not going to vote.)

Oh yeah, Shadow, remember when you said DS can only play GBA and DS games, while the PSP has those additional features?
You can PLAY GBA GAMES ON YOUR PSP, as well as OTHER SYSTEMS!! Although its emulation, if you have version 2.80 or lower, you can play ROMs via your PSP, so technically, it beats the living crap outta the DS, too bad PSP probably can't emulate the DS, especially since the touch screen won't work, and the screen would be crushed to a point where it looks like crap.

Alright, time for my comparison.
I choose PSP over DS, sorry DS Fans. Also, graphics having nothing to do with my rating.
Nintendo DS:
Now, the DS isn't a bad system, its pretty damn good, it's had its good games, although not too many sadly. And the only good games I've played or soon are usually too short and leave you unsatisfied. The DS has the new touch screen, which can change gameplay for the better. Sadly, most games don't neccesarily need to use this feature and makes it look like a simple add on to the game. The DS's graphics are similar to the N64's, if not better. It is backwards compatable with GBA games, but sadly not with our favorite GB and GBC games. Crap.
PSP:
Okay, the PSP has so much to do for the System. First off, Home Brew. People produce awesome games for the Homebrew system in the PSP (Although Sony is being gay by removing it in 3.00 and above. Pricks.) And in this Homebrew guess what can be played? Emulators, although if you have a firmware of 2.81 or higher, you can't play Emulators until its hacked, although Sony has put ALOT of security on that damned update. Lastly, the PSP has an Internet Browser (Although its as slow as Dial-Up, if not slower.), a Music Player, a Picture viewer, Video Player and anything else that Shadow said about its features. Now onto the Games, the games rock. GTA, MMPU, MHX, Daxter, so many and they're all alot of fun and fun to replay. The graphics are pretty much just like PS2's. The sounds great. Screen size is also great. Well, I got nothing else to say. PSP ftw.

Yeah Eraseman I heard about that sequel to Wind Waker too. Last time I checked it was called Legend of Zelda: Twilight(although I'm sure they changed it since it is too close to the name Twilight Princess). I'll post screenshots when I find them, but it better not look just like the Minish Cap like the latest Zelda release for DS did...

Shadow, the new Zelda game, Twilight Princess is for the Wii and coming out on Gamecube on December 12th. The new zelda game for the DS, is -as of right now- Phantom Hourglass.

I know that. I'm talking about another one I heard of called Twilight. I was suprised that the name was so close to Twilight Princess. The one currently out was a dissapointment to me since it looks identical to Minish Cap graphics and gameplay wise.
As for PSP homebrew, since they found ways to break through 2.71's security, so I'm sure they could break through 3.00's security, but I refuse to try any hacks until proven not to brick my PSP.
