I will start an FAQ on MegaMan ZX and I will try to answer your questions the best I can.
Important information
Bosses-Why do my attacks do less damage?
On ANY boss, any null attack's damage will be cut in half.

What are the differences between the modes?
In easy, damage taken is subtracted by 1, damage given gets 3 extra damage, you start with 5 lives, allowed 4 sub tanks, there are life-ups, and if you fall in a pit or on spikes, you receive 4 damage. Also Biometal repair requirements-LV1-LV2: 40 crystals. LV2-LV3: 100 crystals. LV3-LV4 :200 crystals.
In normal, damage taken is normal, damage given is normal, you start with 3 lives, allowed 4 sub tanks, there are life ups, and spikes and falling in a pit makes you die. Biometal repair requirements-LV1-LV2:200 crystals, LV2-LV3: 500 crystals, and LV3-LV4 takes 1000 crystals.
In hard mode, damage taken has 2 extra damage, damage given is normal, you start with 3 lives, allowed 1 subtank, No life ups, and spikes and falling in a pit makes you die. Biometal Repair Requirements LV1-LV2: 2000 crystals, LV2-LV3: 5000 crystals and LV3-LV4: 10,000 crystals.

What are the differences between Vent and Aile?
Vent-small damage recoil, climbs ladders slowly, crawls slowly, swims fast and sinks/falls fast.
Aile-Large damage recoil, climbs ladders fast, crawls fast, swims slowly and sinks/falls slowly. EDIT: After you complete a certain quest, Aile will get the option of changing her outfit.
